Police have issued a Canada wide warrant for a man after a violent attack where 37-year-old jogger was tied up and sexually assaulted on April 11.

The woman was jogging west on 116 Avenue and 102 Street at around 6:30 p.m. when a man attacked her from behind, dragging her down a nearby alley.

Police say he then pulled out a box cutter and bound the woman with green painter’s tape. He demanded money before he assaulted her.

The woman escaped, running for help.

“This is a pretty brazen (attack) happening in daylight hours,” said Det. Brenda Dalziel, at downtown headquarters after the attack.

Ashton Dennis Natomagan, 33, is wanted on a Canada wide warrant on number of charges including robbery, assault with a weapon, kidnapping, sexual assault with threats to cause bodily harm, and possession of an offensive weapon dangerous to the public.
